BSG Alliance Corp., a provider of a range of software-as-a-service applications and consulting services for enterprises, has acquired Kalivo Inc. for an undisclosed amount.
The acquisition, which closed recently, is the second for venture-backed BSG Alliance since raising a $17 million Series A round in May from Hummer Winblad Venture Partners, Foundation Capital and Powershift Ventures, the personal investment vehicle of Steve Papermaster, BSG's chief executive and chairman.
Kalivo, which makes software for online collaboration, will become the core offering of BSG's Collaboration Hub, which will provide a "single point of interface" to customers using several different collaboration tools across the enterprise, Papermaster said.
Collaboration Hub will also provide applications for employees to communicate with each other and with customers, Papermaster said.
With the acquisition, the company also announced it has hired Steve Douty as president of its applications group. Douty previously served as director of business planning and media programming for MSN, Microsoft's Web portal.
Last May, Austin, Texas-based BSG Alliance acquired business management consultancy Concours Group Inc. The company intends to "supplement its organic growth with further acquisitions," Papermaster said.
No new funding was necessary for BSG Alliance to complete the acquisition, Papermaster said.
